Pew! Pew! Pew! Star Wars Reads Day is Saturday at the Main Library
Stormtroopers, Tusken Raiders, and R2D2 invade the Charleston County Public Library on Saturday, October 13th for an afternoon of Star Wars-related fun for the entire family. The event runs from 11 am to 2 pm at the main library located at 68 Calhoun Street.
Bring a camera to have your photo taken with characters from the Star Wars Universe and become a part of Star Wars celebration, as members of the Carolina Garrison chapter of the 501st Legion, a volunteer international Star Wars costuming organization, will be dressed in lifelike gear.
Fans can also compete in a Jedi training obstacle course, enjoy target practice on Storm Troopers, visit the Jakku Junkyard, and take a break from the excitement with Yoda Soda and Wookiee Cookiees in the Teen Lounge. A screening of Solo: A Star Wars Story will begin at 2 pm.

- Charleston Symphony Orchestra Performances
- 11:15 am – 11:45 am and 12:45 pm – 1:15 pm. in the Auditorium
- Robotics Demonstrations
- 11:45 am – 12 pm; 12:30 pm – 12:45 pm; 1:15 pm – 1:30 pm on the Second Floor
- Costume Parade and Contest
- 12-12:30 in the Lobby
- Star Wars Storytime
- 12:30-1 p.m. in the Children’s Storytime Room
- “Solo: A Star Wars Story” Film Screening
- 2 p.m. in the Auditorium
