Charleston County Parks is bringing back a popular holiday event that debuted last year at the Mount Pleasant Pier – Shuckin’ on the Cooper. The event, held Saturday, December 8th, offers guests the opportunity to enjoy oysters and beverages while viewing the Holiday Parade of Boats.
Shuckin’ on the Cooper will take place from 5 pm to 8 pm. Held at the end of the Mount Pleasant Pier, this family-friendly celebration provides a spectacular view of the City of Charleston’s Holiday Parade of Boats in the Charleston Harbor. The Mount Pleasant Pier stretches 1,250 feet into the harbor at the foot of the Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Bridge, and is a prime location to see the boats from the shore that evening.
Admission is $8 in advance or $10 on site if available, but advance ticket purchase is recommended. Buckets of oysters, provided by Charleston Bay Gourmet, will be available for $10 each on site. Dave N Dubs Hot Dog Joint will also be onsite selling hot dogs and brats. Alcoholic beverages and Coke products will be available for purchase at the event location. Treats and snacks will also be for sale at the pier’s Riverwatch Cafe and Gift Shop, located on the other end of the Mount Pleasant Pier. Food and beverage fees are not included in ticket price.
Live music will be provided throughout the evening by alternative folk songwriter Joshua Jarman.
Limited tickets will be sold for Shuckin’ on the Cooper. This is a rain or shine event. For details or to reserve your space, call 843-795-4386, visit www.CharlestonCountyParks.com, or download the Charleston County Parks app.
