Return of the Mac Off: Charleston’s Cheesiest Event Set for 12/1

The Holy City’s cheesiest event returns for its 9th go-round on Saturday, December 1st. The Charleston Mac Off, a family-friendly event featuring tons of the South’s best comfort food will be held at The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium from 11 am to 4 pm.
The festival features popular Lowcountry restaurants facing off to win the title of “Best Mac & Cheese in Charleston.” Competing chefs will showcase their version of the classic dish, playing with different cheeses, pasta shapes, toppings, and cooking methods. In the end, there will be one winner in the People’s Choice category and one winner in the Critic’s Choice category.
In addition to the numerous local restaurants serving up the city’s best mac-and-cheese dishes, the event will also include:
- Live Music from The Black Diamond Band
- Christmas Artisan Market
- Berlins Kitchen Demo
- Kid’s Area
- Multiple Vendors
- Beer, wine, and cocktails
- Free parking
