Going Places and On Purpose Adventures to Host City-Wide Scavenger Hunt Fundraiser
On Saturday, December 8th, Going Places and On Purpose Adventures will host “The Hunt for Joy,” a scavenger hunt fundraiser. Participants will use discovery, curiosity, teamwork, and some simple fun to use clues to draw them to locations where they will have a challenge waiting for them.
Sponsors on the peninsula will have teams using clues that will lead them to their business locations where there will be a challenge waiting for them to video. Sponsors not on the peninsula will have customized questions that would lead people to their website and have them do an activity related to their brand.
EVENT DETAILS:
- Check-in and post-party: Carolina Ale House
- Check-in time: 12-1pm
- Hunt time: 1-4pm
- Post-party: 4:30-6pm
- Teams: minimum of 2, max of 8
- Cost: $45 per register, $50 for team lead registration (participants who don’t have a team may register alone and be assigned a team)
- All proceeds will go towards the goal of $67,500 needed in order to buy 500 bikes, locks, and helmets for the students who attend Sanders-Clyde Elementary

About Going Places
Going Places is a nonprofit that provides disadvantaged kids with their most basic childhood right – A right to Joy. We do that by providing EVERY child in a low income elementary school with a brand new, custom bike. The work founder Katie Blomquist did last year went viral. It was featured on New York Nightly News with Lester Holt, ABC World News, Time Magazine, and the Steve Harvey Show. Many of these children have never owned anything new before, let alone a new bike, so when we surprise them with these bikes, it truly transforms their childhood.
