World AIDS Day Charleston Announces 2018 Events
The World AIDS Day Charleston Planning Committee has announced activities they are hosting to commemorate World AIDS Day, November 30th. The Charleston community is invited to come together to recognize what is happening locally and join forces to support HIV education and prevention here and around the state.
This year’s schedule includes the following events:
Project Condom is a design contest where fashion meets education. It provides an engaging, safe space where relationship communication is encouraged and the social stigma surrounding condom use is reduced. The Charleston Area World AIDS Day Committee, The Charleston Teen and Family EMPOWERR Program, and the College of Charleston Multicultural Student Program have partnered to host this event.
The teams will be composed of adolescents and young adults (12-25) within Charleston, Dorchester, and Berkeley counties, as well as local organizations.
This event is open to the public and a pre-show reception will be held at 5:30 pm. Local drag queen Melody Lucas will be the emcee and perform. Click here for more information.
