Bacon and Bourbon Completes the hunt for the Rare Bourbon Bar
Bacon and Bourbon today announced that their hunt for rare bourbons is now complete, and producers are thrilled with the collection. The event’s rare bourbon bar will feature Pappy Van Winkle, the Antiques Collection and over 75 rare, unique and hard-to-find selections.
“We sent our bourbon ambassadors across the country to secure the rarest selections and even tracked down things only available outside the U.S. market,” Rebecca Gosnell, the event producer, said. One example is Blanton’s Gold, which the team had shipped in from London. Other noted finds include Booker’s 30th Anniversary, Elmer T. Lee and the Four Roses Limited Edition, small batch 2016. The entire collection is listed on the event website.
For those who are happy to forage among the more familiar brands, the event offers 30 bars pouring 45 varieties like Breckenridge, Maker’s Mark, Buffalo Trace, and High West. As always, these free tastings are paired with bacon debauchery from 20 area chefs who look to Bacon and Bourbon as an opportunity to do something a little on the wild side. The perennial favorite Smithfield will serve up a bacon bar with dozens of bacon flavors and unique interpretations.
Bacon and Bourbon will be held at the Charleston Area Convention Center on Saturday, February 16, 2019. There are less than 200 tickets now available. The ticket includes live bands, laser skeet shooting, bull riding, and cocktail specials at the master bourbon bar that change each hour. Pours from the rare bourbon bar range from $10 to $50.
Proceeds from the evening benefit the scholarship fund at Feed The Need. The program helps the homeless and under-employed train for careers in the food and beverage industry.
