Ax throwing has become a popular pop-up event at Charleston bars and events, but the city will soon have it’s first permanent spot dedicated to the activity. The Ax Hole, Charleston’s first ax throwing venue, is planning to open in Park Circle during the first few months of 2019.
According to The Post & Courier, the city of North Charleston may force the business to ax its intended name, but regardless, the venue should be open in March.
The business will feature several lanes for ax throwing, coaches to keep you safe, local craft beer, wine, mead, and more. If you’re worried about the safety of combining alcohol with axes, the business says there is nothing to worry about. Owner Ian Smith told the Charleston City Paper that they will have at least one employee on hand to monitor patrons and each employees will “undergo bartender standard TIPS training to identify any patrons who may be acting unsafe.”
The Ax Hole will be located at 1077 E. Montague Ave. You can learn more about the business on their Facebook page.
