The Gibbes Museum of Art Announces New Interactive App
The Gibbes Museum of Art has launched a new way for visitors to interact with their exhibits using a mobile app powered by Cuseum. This new app features tours of the galleries, educational content about the Gibbes and the artwork, and location-based notifications.
Visitors using the app will be greeted with an introduction to the museum and will be able to look at a map of the museum and pick a path through the galleries that interests them. On this map visitors can see recommended exhibits and the length of the interactive tour. In addition, as viewers get close to a work of art, rich content about that piece can be delivered straight to their device. This feature is powered by iBeacon technology to enable notifications and provide a “digital docent” experience.
The app is available now on the App Store, as well as online at www.gibbesmuseum.org/app.
