Golden Angel Program Brings Holiday Cheer to Seniors
On December 18th, Palmetto Goodwill provided a holiday meal and gifts to 80 disadvantaged seniors at the Charleston Area Senior Center in downtown Charleston. Additional meals and gifts have been distributed to more than 800 low income seniors in lower South Carolina during this holiday season.
Palmetto Goodwill Community and Corporate Relations Director Tina Marshall stated, “For the past 12 years, Palmetto Goodwill has helped meet the needs of thousands of disadvantaged seniors through the Golden Angel Program. With the support of the community, Goodwill has provided disadvantaged seniors with store vouchers, gift cards, meals and other basic necessities many of us take for granted.”
Goodwill receives referrals for this program from senior service providers in the Tri-county region, Grand Strand, Beaufort, Florence, Sumter and Darlington.
Donations to the Golden Angel Program will continue to be accepted until the end of the year. If you would like to support seniors in our community, please consider a monetary donation to Goodwill in support of the Golden Angel program, or purchase a golden angel cutout at your nearby Goodwill store. Your monetary donation will help Goodwill reach as many seniors as possible during the holiday season.
