Join Google as Hundreds of Students “Storm The Citadel!” Saturday
Do you have an interest in science, technology, engineering or math? Perhaps you just like to launch objects into the air? If this sounds interesting to you, be sure to join Google on Saturday, February 9th for the 9th Annual Storm The Citadel! Trebuchet Competition.
Google is teaming up with The Citadel’s STEM Center for Excellence once again, hosting students from across the Palmetto State as they put their engineering skills to the test in this medieval showdown. The competition will take place on the historic campus of The Citadel, home to the fifth-oldest engineering school in the United States, in conjunction with National Engineers Week.
At Storm The Citadel! Trebuchet Competition, teams of students ranging from elementary school to college will bring trebuchets, a type of medieval catapult that they have engineered, and put their launching abilities to the test. Each trebuchet will be judged based on accuracy, distance, design, and spirit. Storm The Citadel! will also include robotics, bridge building, and water bottle rocket building competitions.
