Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry to Reopen following Renovations
The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry is set to reopen to the public after an eight week renovation. The museum, closed since January, will open on Saturday, March 2nd at 9 am. During the temporary closure, the museum has been operating a pop-up in the Citadel Mall, which will close on Tuesday, February 26th at 5 pm.
This project is the first phase of several changes coming to the museum. According to a press release, visitors to the museum will notice: aesthetic updates to the interior of the existing structure: the bathrooms have been made-over, the ceiling has been encapsulated, new HVAC systems have been installed throughout the building, and roof and door repairs were also completed. Also, the shed in the museum’s backyard has been removed. Updates and renovations to the backyard will continue throughout the spring.
