“We are thrilled and honored to be receiving a Verner award,” Angela Mack, The Gibbes Museum of Art’s executive director, said. “The Gibbes strives to enhance lives through art by engaging people of every background and experience with art and artists of enduring quality and by providing opportunities to learn, discover, enjoy and be inspired by the creative process. This award proves we are delivering on that promise.”

The 2019 Verner Awards will be presented with the Jean Laney Harris Folk Heritage Awards at South Carolina Arts Awards Day sponsored by Colonial Life on Wednesday, May 1st in a morning ceremony at the USC Alumni Center (900 Senate St., Columbia).
