Sewee Fire Fest Scheduled for March 23rd at Awendaw Green
On Saturday, March 23rd, you’re invited to bring the family to the Awendaw Green and Sewee Outpost for a free event showcasing how controlled burns are making our communities safer and restoring native forests.
The 2019 Sewee Fire Fest schedule is as follows:
- 10 am
- Center for Birds of Prey Raptor Show
- 11 am
- Meet Smokey Bear, Woodsy Owl and Burner Bob
- Live Demonstration Burn*
- Noon
- SC Aquarium Reptile Lab 1
- 1 pm
- SC Aquarium Reptile Lab 2
- 2 pm
- Live Demonstration Burn*
*Live burn is weather permitting
Attendees will also be able to talk to real firefighters and exploring their fire trucks. They’ll also be able to learn more about local organizations bringing safe, controlled fire to South Carolina’s forests. The event will also include food vendors, live music, a bounce house, and face painting.
The First 60 attendees will get admission to the SC Aquarium Reptiles Labs. First come, first served!
