Coming in May: “Behind the Lines: A Musical Tribute to America’s Heroes”
Brad and Jennifer Moranz in May will present “Behind the Lines: A Musical Tribute to America’s Heroes” for two shows only at the Charleston Music Hall. Attendees can experience the emotional words from the fighting men and women from the Revolution, Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Andrew Carroll’s “Behind the Lines: A Musical Tribute to America’s Heroes” features dramatic readings of letters written by troops and their families, plus performances of the songs that connected them to home. Carroll is the director of the Center for American War Letters (www.WarLetters.us) at Chapman University. It is based on Carroll’s New York Times bestselling books, including Letters of A Nation, Behind the Lines, and War Letters.
During the performance, actors will dramatically read war-time correspondences spanning from the American Revolution up to the present day. Those readings will be accompanied by stirring songs and music from the eras of each letter performed by live musicians.
“This show should be seen by all Americans,” Brad Moranz said. “To hear those letters is so moving. It helps all of us understand what these men and women have been through. It’s truly inspirational.”
