Leftovers: Tidbits from the Food & Bev Community (4/2/19)

I created the “Leftovers” series to ensure I could share as much food and bev news as possible, so here’s the latest:

    1. The Macintosh
      • New general manager Katie Hajjar starts starts on April 1st and comes directly from the same position at Parcel 32 (previously she worked at Fish and Old Village Post House)
      • The restaurant will host Blues, Brews & BBQ on April 6th at 10 am
    2. O-Ku
      • The Return of DJ Natty Heavy on March 30th from 11 pm to 2 am
        • Shot specials and late night bite menu
      • Sakura Celebration on April 4th from 9 pm to midnight
        • Live music by Seth G, free finger foods, and a cherry blossom-themed cocktail
      • Cooper River Bridge Run Lunch on April 6th from 10 am to 2 pm
        • Post-run (or for-fun) treats: sake bloody marys, mimosas and sushi
    3. Subway
      • South Carolina Subway restaurants are getting a refresh. The multimillion-dollar investment will help Subway franchises complete restaurant remodels by mid-2020. Guests can expect a refreshed physical appearance
    4. Commonhouse Aleworks
      • The Park Circle brewery is releasing two of its most popular beers in 12-ounce 6-packs of cans
        • White Point Light – a classic American ale that is easy going and quaffable
        • Park Circle Pale Ale – strong tropical aromas, a soft body, subtle bitterness
        • Both are now available for purchase at Commonhouse and will be available in select local grocery stores, convenience stores, and bottle shops starting the first week of April
    5. Tradd’s
      • On Sunday, April 21st, Tradd’s hosts an Easter brunch buffet in their upstairs event space. The buffet features a wide array of spring dishes in a chic atmosphere
      • Menu highlights including Pickled Shrimp; Honey Baked Clove Spiked Ham; Rosemary Roasted Beef Tenderloin; Grilled Asparagus with Preserved Lemon; Coconut Cake “Cotton Tails;” Carrot Cake; and Chocolate Mousse Eggs
      • The brunch is $48 person and $20 for children under 12
      • Seatings are available from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m
      • Tradd’s will also offer an a la carte brunch menu in their bar and dining room

      • Visit Resy for a table in the main dining room and bar
    6. Container Bar/Rutledge Cab Company
      • On Saturday, April 6th, Container Bar and Rutledge Cab Company are teaming up to throw a Bridge Run Block Party benefiting local non-profit, I Got Legs
      • Starting at 11 am, guests are invited refuel and hydrate with specialty cocktails and delicious food, all while showing their support for I Got Legs

    7. Maui Tacos
      1. Show your Cooper River Bridge Run bib on April 6th to receive 10% off your meal
