King Street Between Calhoun and George Streets to Close for Stormwater Tunnel Repair
The City of Charleston says King Street between Calhoun and George Streets will close to traffic beginning Monday, April 8th, at 8 am while repairs are made to a collapsed stormwater tunnel brick archway. The road will reopen at 4 pm each day. The repair work to the archway is expected to take between three to five weekdays, followed by an additional weekday for the resurfacing of the roadway.
B & C Land Development Inc. will conduct the repairs.
“We apologize for the inconvenience, and will work to make these repairs and safely reopen the street as quickly as possible,” City of Charleston Director of Stormwater Matthew Fountain said.
