Gotcha Selected as Finalist for Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas
Press Release
–
Gotcha has been selected as a finalist for Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas awards. Now in its third year, the accolade showcases 17 winners, 200 finalists, and 300 honorable mentions. Gotcha is honored to be one of the finalists in the Health and Wellness category for its bikes and scooters.
The awards program focuses on social good by showcasing finished products and brave new concepts that make the world better. A panel of judges from a wide range of sectors choose winners, finalists, and honorable mentions based on feasibility and the potential impact each concept will make.
Gotcha’s submission focused on the positive impacts micro-transit programs have on student health and wellness at university and college campuses. Gotcha’s bikes and scooters are changing the way transportation systems function while promoting active lifestyles for students.
By partnering with colleges and universities, Gotcha helps them develop custom micro-mobility solutions that equip students, faculty, and staff with active, sustainable transportation instead of single-occupant vehicles. In 2018, Gotcha’s bike share riders burned more than 23 million calories while riding more than 540k miles.
Biking is more than a full body workout that improves cardiovascular fitness, burns fat, and improves coordination; it also improves the health of others in surrounding areas. Choosing to use a bike or scooter helps reduce carbon emissions, improves air quality, and traffic congestion to make a positive impact on the health of others.
“We are proud of all the partnerships we’ve built with universities and colleges to provide micro-transit solutions that benefits students’ health,” said Sean Flood, CEO and founder of Gotcha. “Our goal from inception has always been to improve the lives of people through sustainable, accessible transportation and we’re honored to be recognized for the positive outcomes people enjoy by riding our products.”
