Whole Foods Market Community Giving Day to Benefit The Green Heart Project
The Green Heart Project will receive 5% of net sales from all Whole Foods Market locations in the Charleston area on Thursday, April 18th as part of the company’s annual Community Giving Days. All funds raised by Whole Foods Market will support the Green Heart Project’s Farm to School programs, reaching 1,200 students across six schools in the Charleston area.
“We are honored to be the beneficiary of this Community Giving Day and grateful for the continued support from Whole Foods Market,” Jesse Blom, Executive Director of the Green Heart Project, said. “Both Whole Foods stores in Charleston have been steadfast supporters of our mission to grow minds and cultivate community through growing food.”
The April Community Giving Day initiative focuses on organizations, partnerships, projects, and events that leverage food to strengthen communities through economic growth, sustainable sourcing, environmental stewardship, and powerful collaborations.
More than 500 Whole Foods Market locations will participate in the Community Giving Day by donating to organizations, projects and programs that support the mission of strengthening communities through food.
Representatives from the Green Heart Project will be at both Whole Foods Market locations in Charleston on the 5% day, providing more information about the organization, programs and how the community can get involved.
