Who Really Uses Hemp

Published

on

With its long history across the globe, hemp is considered one of the most versatile plants on Earth. It has been used in the production of thousands of commodities, household items and ingestible including salad dressings, pain relief medications, as well as body lotions, clothes, paper, twine, canvas, boat sails, ship rigs, fishnets and even fuel. In this article we explore five ways hemp oil products can be used in our daily lives.

1-      Mental Health

One of the most known uses of hemp oil is that it’s a natural, safe, cannabis-based product that can help alleviate stress and anxiety, ease depression, and improve the mood. And while scientific research on the matter is still in its infancy, mounting evidence emerges every day to confirm these benefits.

2-      Physical Health

Hemp oil (which can mean a full-spectrum oil from the Cannabis sativa plant or hemp seed oil) is used as a main active ingredient in a number of medications that treat dozens of conditions. When topically applied to the skin, hemp oil was proven helpful in the treatment of a number of skin issues including eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, varicose eczema, and acne among others. For eczema issues on hands, it is best when used in combination with moisturizing gloves.

On the other hand, hemp seed oil is ingested as an alternative to pharmaceutical drugs like a painkiller; an anti-inflammatory agent in the brain and muscles; and has been seen to aid in the treatment of high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, and elevated cholesterol levels. In regard to safety, and as explained on Ananda Hemp as well as many other sources, hemp and CBD oil products containing no more than 0.3% THC do not induce a “high” and are very safe to consume while performing routine day-to-day activities.

3-      Food

Thanks to its valuable health benefits – for its rich in essential fatty acids and amino acids – hemp is used in several recipes; the oil can be included as a salad dressing ingredient, while the can be either eaten like nuts, added to cake batter, or crushed to make flour.

4-      Skin Care

Hemp boasts a high content of naturally-occurring vitamin E compounds (tocotrienols and tocopherols), which are basically free-radical scavenging antioxidants. Lotions containing hemp help condition, moisturize and protect the skin, while aiding in the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.

5-      Hair Care

Just as much as hemp oil benefits the skin, it can also be used to moisturize the scalp and hair follicles for healthier, shinier hair. The rich, fatty acids in hemp oil have been shown to promote healthy hair growth and strengthen hair strands. This helps reduce the appearance of dry, split ends, and protect against future breakage.

More Than Meets the Eye

As it becomes easier to purchase hemp oil and other hemp products, like this high strength CBD oil, we will continue to discover the wealth of benefits it carries. With an impressive nutrient profile, essential fatty acids, amino acids and antioxidants, hemp oil products are incredibly useful for controlling anxiety and depression; keeping the brain and heart healthy; cooking and baking; and caring for the skin and hair. And luckily, they are perfectly safe to consume.
