CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte used a four-run third inning for their first lead of the night on their way to a 9-3 win Tuesday night in nonconference action.

Charleston Southern (20-32) claimed a 1-0 lead in the second inning as Max Ryerson singled then came around on Josh Peters’ RBI double, but the big third from Charlotte (20-29-1) was enough to swing the momentum and take the contest Tuesday.

Peters turned in a two-hit day to lead the CSU offense while Asbill worked two walks and came around to score in the fifth inning. Peters’ RBI single in the second also came just feet from a home run to straight away center field after hitting a longball in his previous at-bat Saturday versus USC Upstate.
