Dune Bug Clubs for Kids
Children ages 5-11 can enjoy a fun collection of new educational programs this summer with the resort’s Dune Bug Clubs, available select days June 10 to August 5. Kids can show off their creativity and express their inner artists with Lil’ Picasso or join a pirate crew in the hunt for buried treasure with Pirate Plunder with the Charleston Museum. They can become the ruler of their own made-from-scratch Lego castles with Ultimate Fort Building, or experiment with 11 kooky science projects with Mad Scientist. Kids can solve an exciting series of mysteries around the resort with Junior Detective or build and design a rocket to be launched high into the sky at Astronaut Camp. Finally, children can become nature detectives and learn to identify shells, track animals and investigate Lowcountry fossils with Explore the Shore with the Charleston Museum.
South Carolina Aquarium Volunteer Activity + Package
Booking.com recently reported that a staggering 86 percent of travelers said they would be willing to spend some time on activities that offset the environmental impact of their stay, and 37 percent said they would be willing to help clear plastic or litter from a beach or other tourist attraction. Wild Dunes Resort is partnering with the South Carolina Aquarium to give guests the chance to hit the beach for a good cause with its SC Aquarium Beach Sweeps, occurring every Saturday morning from June to August at the Grand Pavilion. Families can learn about the resort’s efforts to go plastic strawless, save sea turtles and keep our oceans clean. The Sweeps will begin with an educational presentation and end with logging the amount of debris the group gathered so guests can see the full impact of their efforts. Sea turtle lovers can also learn more about some of the resort’s ocean neighbors with the SC Aquarium Family Sea Turtle Package. Designed for two adults and two kids, this package includes a two-night resort stay, four tickets to the South Carolina Aquarium, complete with a private behind the scenes tour with the Aquarium staff and complimentary downtown parking voucher, two Tipsy Turtle drink vouchers for use at the resort and a special sea turtle welcome amenity. Upgraded Spa Services
Parents and grandparents looking to relax and recharge can visit Wild Dunes Resort’s Sand & Sea Spa and indulge in a number of new and unique treatments available this summer like the CBD Renew & Relax Massage. Conde Nast Traveler named CBD Spa Treatments one of nine top travel trends for 2019. Travelers across the country can’t get enough of this wildly popular non-psychoactive compound derived from marijuana plants, used to both relieve anxiety and reduce muscle soreness. Players of any sport can loosen their muscles and help prevent sprains with the resort’s new Young Athletes Massage, while women seeking to amp up their lashes can enjoy a Lash Lift or Lash Perm. Guests seeking to supercharge their skin with a facial can choose between two new treatments- the Alpha Beta Brightening Facial, which uses Vitamin C to help support collagen and combat sun damage, and the Hyaluronic Marine Hydrating Facial, which uses professional-grade algin and hyaluronic acid to improve the skin’s capacity to retain water. Finally, for the ultimate relaxation, Wild Dunes Resort brings the spa directly to its guests with its In-Room Massage at the Boardwalk Inn.
