Celebrate Caribbean Heritage with Charleston Carifest
June is Caribbean American Heritage Month and SC Caribbean Culture & Heritage will celebrate by hosting Charleston Carifest, a series of five events in four days. The festival begins June 20th and continues through June 23rd.
This year’s event includes a symposium, a party, a parade, and more. The full schedule can be seen below:
- June 20th: Carifest Symposium & Opening Reception
- College of Charleston School of Professional Studies
- 6 pm to 9 pm
- Free
- Keynote: Mr. Peter Bailey from the Virgin Islands, this year’s featured country
- June 21st: Carifest All White Fete
- Canon Street Arts Center, 134 Canon Street
- 9 pm – 2 am
- Music by DJ Swisha and DJ Luigi
- Reggae, Soca, Salsa, Afrobeats
- $15 tickets available on online here, but payment will be accepted at the door
- June 22nd: Carifest Parade & Festival in the Park

- Live Performance by International Artists Scrouge Soca Artist from the Virgin Islands, MichaelStar from Jamaica, and Empress J. Local Artists Gatorman and Umoja Unity African Drum and Dance, and Caribbean Band Blazin Posse
