Local Child Author Added to Barnes & Noble Book Fair in Honor of Emanuel 9
As the fourth anniversary of the Mother Emanuel tragedy approaches, the Barnes & Noble June Bookfair honored the victims and their families with local 10-year-old author Makayla Tyler.
The tragic and untimely death of nine innocent church goers shook not only the Holy City, but the entire world. Unity, tranquility, and strength brought Charleston together to heal as one through peace and positivity. Tyler’s book Love 7 promotes positive character traits to children.
The book contains powerful messages promoting anti-bullying, good behavior, importance of moral principles, teamwork, good citizenship, and being positive through seven unique anime-inspired characters. Tyler, an Atlanta native raised in Summerville, is passionate about spreading her positive message to the city of Charleston and remembering the Emanuel 9.
The Barnes & Noble June Bookfair was held on June 1st at 1812 Sam Rittenburg Blvd in West Ashley.
