Charleston Pro Bono to Host Pop-Up Market in July
Press Release
–
On July 10th and 11th, Charleston Pro Bono will be hosting a Merry Makers pop-up market featuring food, drink, and local vendors. The fundraiser will be held at the newly renovated Society Hall located at 72 Meeting Street. Shoppers can drop in anytime between 12 pm and 6 pm on both days.
Admission is free and open to the public. The event will feature up to 50 vendor booths. The vendor application is currently open; those interested in becoming a vendor for this event should contact Charleston Pro Bono soon, as spots are filling up quickly. Drinks will be served by MIX Premier Bartending, food vendors TBA.
Originally constructed in the early 1800s as a school for female orphans and indigents, Society Hall is a long-standing icon of Charleston philanthropy. The venue was renovated in 2017 and Merry Makers attendees will be able to experience the historic venue while they browse the market, shop and mingle.
The Merry Makers event will also serve as a preview of our annual fundraising event, Art on the Beach- Chefs in the Kitchen which will take place on November 10. Art on the Beach – Chefs in the Kitchen is a self-guided Sullivan’s Island home tour featuring exhibitions by local artists and spreads of food prepared by Charleston-area chefs within each house on the tour.
The market will benefit Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services, a local nonprofit which provides free civil legal services to low-income residents of Charleston County. The proceeds from this event will enable the organization to increase its impact and further empower the Charleston community by providing equal access to justice.
