Charleston First Assembly Care Week Began Sunday

In cooperation with the city of Charleston, Charleston First Assembly of God church is sponsoring Charleston First Assembly Care Week, an initiative created to provide community members in need with various free goods and human services, outlined below, from June 16, 2019 to June 23, 2019.
The following events are scheduled during Charleston First Assembly Care Week:
- Sunday, June 16, 2019, 10:30 a.m.: Home Missions Day worship service, Charleston First Assembly, 2957 Savannah Highway. Food bank donations will be received, volunteers acknowledged, and prayers offered.
- Wednesday, June 19, 2019 – Friday, June 21, 2019: Church members and volunteers from the Alabama District Assemblies of God will do minor home repairs and small job constructions on pre-approved projects.
- Saturday, June 22, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Charleston First Assembly, 2957 Savannah Highway: Charleston First Assembly Care Day. Members of the Charleston community can access free groceries, clothing, haircuts, health screenings, employment opportunities and prayer.
- Sunday, June 23, 2019, 10:30 a.m.: Celebration Service at the church concluding Charleston First Assembly Care Week. The Reverend Ken Draughon, District Superintendent, Alabama District Council of the Assemblies of God, will serve as the service’s keynote speaker. A Red Cross Blood Drive will follow the service from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Mayor John Tecklenburg will issue the attached proclamation in honor of Charleston First Assembly Care Week.
