By: Riverdogs Media
The fans are going nuts after the RiverDogs’ nine days on the road and the club promises to deliver a homestand that gives the people what they want with two promotional rebrands back by popular demand. The RiverDogs will become the “Charleston Boiled Peanuts” as they bring back their alternate identity steeped in Lowcountry tradition for a second straight year as well as transforming into “Los Perros Santos de Charleston” for the fourth and final time this season as part of MiLB’s Copa de la Diversión celebration.
The fun down at The Joe starts Wednesday night as the Charleston club welcomes in the Hickory Crawdads (Texas) for a three-game series before facing the Delmarva Shorebirds (Baltimore) in a Saturday through Tuesday set:
Wednesday, July 31, 7:05 p.m.: Senior Wednesday: The RiverDogs open the weeklong stint at The Joe as fans 65 and older eat free before 7 and run the bases postgame. Gates open up at 6 p.m. for the start of seven days at Riley Park.
Thursday, August 1, 7:05 p.m.: Thirsty Thursday/RiverDogs Blood Drive: The RiverDogs continue the homestand with a Budweiser Thirsty Thursday at The Joe, featuring dollar beers as DJ Natty Heavy spins the tunes in the Ashley View Pub all night long. Fans can follow DJ Natty Heavy and 95SX on social media to win VIP wristbands to Club Budweiser and cut the beer lines. Head to The Joe early that afternoon as the RiverDogs host a blood drive with The Blood Connection from 1-6 p.m. in the RiverDogs’ VIP lot adjacent to the stadium. Fans who donate blood will receive two tickets to a RiverDogs game of their choice, a hot dog meal, and a special edition t-shirt.
Friday, August 2, 7:05 p.m.: Friday Fireworks/Military Appreciation Night: The RiverDogs put on another postgame firework showcase presented by Home Telecom after the conclusion of the final out as the RiverDogs celebrate the nation’s military on a Boeing Military Appreciation Night. In conjunction with 103.5 WEZL and Live 5 News, fans wearing red at the gate will receive $1 off regular ticket pricing at the box office. During an inning break, a deployed military serviceman, servicewoman or veteran will be called upon and thanked for their service. In their continuing partnership with Boeing, the RiverDogs will offer complementary tickets to active and retired military members and their families on a night to recognize soldiers and their families for the dedication, commitment, and sacrifices they have made (visit riverdogs.com/military for ticket pickup locations).
Saturday, August 3, 6:05 p.m.: Boiled Peanuts Night/Helicopter Ball Drop: Back by popular demand, the RiverDogs dip into a steamy pot of Charleston tradition as they transform in the “Charleston Boiled Peanuts” for one night only, presented by 10 WestEdge Apartment Residences. The Boiled Peanuts will celebrate the second annual event with one-night rebrand, including a host of new nutty merchandise on sale at the ballpark and leading up to the event online. The first 750 guests at the game will receive a complementary cup of boiled peanuts thanks to 10 WestEdge and the first 1,000 will also receive their very own Boiled Peanuts bow tie. Stick around after the game for a postgame Fly In Helicopter Ball Drop presented by Chuck FM and Fox 24 as one lucky fan could walk away with a $4,000 grand prize if their numbered bouncy ball lands on the target at home plate.
