S.C. Shellfish Growers Association Partner with Local Restaurants to Raise Funds on National Oyster Day
The S.C. Shellfish Growers Association, a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, will be partnering with local restaurants on National Oyster Day, Monday, August 5th, and the weekend before, to raise funds, spread awareness, and educate the public on sustainable mariculture practices in our state.
Through the partnerships, the S.C. Shellfish Growers Association will receive 15% of each restaurant’s oyster sales. Participating restaurants, their addresses, and partnership days are listed below:
- August 3rd
- Chubby Fish, 252 Coming Street
- August 4th
- NICO, 201 Coleman Boulevard, Mt. Pleasant
- The Ordinary, 544 King Street
- August 5th
- The Darling Oyster Bar, 513 King Street
- Prohibition, 574 King Street
- The Royal Tern, 3005 Maybank Hwy, Johns Island
The partnerships for National Oyster Day will be the first means of fundraising the S.C. Shellfish Growers Association has planned. They want to continue to be a resource for sustainable farmers of the estuarine environment so that they may continue providing fresh, local products for the restaurants and natives of South Carolina.
