Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Exits Charleston

The Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. restaurant at 99 South Market Street has closed its doors after 19 years of serving downtown Charleston. The Post & Courier on Friday was the first to report that the restaurant based on the iconic 1994 film, Forrest Gump, had shuttered.

A statement from Jim Dufault, Chief Operations Officer of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., said the closure was “due to a natural lease expiration.”
