Palmetto Moon, Costa Sunglasses, and Surfrider Foundation Partner for Local Beach Cleanup
Palmetto Moon announced that it will partner with Costa Sunglasses and Surfrider Foundation’s Better Beach Alliance to help ‘Kick Plastic’ and clean up Folly Beach on Thursday, August 22nd from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Kick Plastic was launched by Costa Sunglasses to help reduce the amount of plastic used as a company and to mobilize a movement. Throughout the years, they have supported causes that contribute to the preservation of the waterways and oceans. Costa has seen an increasing amount of plastic pollution that is not only clogging landfills, but is finding its way into waterways and oceans at an unprecedented rate.
Volunteers are encouraged to sign-up and join the movement on August 22nd at Folly Beach. As a volunteer you receive a free Costa hat and will be entered to win a pair of Costa sunglasses (retail value up to $279). Sign-up sheets are located at any local Palmetto Moon location:
- Northwoods: 2150 Northwoods Blvd, Suite J-700, North Charleston
- Tanger Outlets: 4840 Tanger Outlet Blvd, Suite 810, North Charleston
- Mount Pleasant: 1632 Palmetto Grande Drive
- Summerville: 420-C Azalea Square Blvd
If you are unable to volunteer, you can still help the Kick Plastic movement by purchasing Costa Eyewear. Customers will receive a $20 Palmetto Moon gift card & Costa Dry Box accessory case with purchase.
Rip Tide Coffee will provide an inaugural Costa Rican cold brew served exclusively at this event. Hook’d on Smoke will also be on site to serve up delicious Texas-style BBQ for purchase.
Volunteers are to meet at the beach access at 2nd Street East on Folly Beach (look for the Costa tent and Surfrider flag). All supplies will be provided, and eco-warriors of all ages are welcome.
