CCPL Employee Wins Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services Award
The Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services (ABOS) today announced the 2019 winners of the Carol Hole Award, and a Charleston County Public Library (CCPL) employee was among the recipients.
The Carol Hole Conference Attendance Award is given to public library staff members working in outreach or bookmobile services. Devon Andrews is among the 2019 winners chosen from a field of over 25 applicants. Andrews is the Manager of Programing and Outreach at the CCPL.
“We have only recently established an Outreach Department in our library system,” Andrews said. “The mission of the department is to provide equitable access to library programming, materials, technology, and services to patrons outside the walls of CCPL facilities, with a focused effort on reaching the vulnerable populations of Charleston County.”
Carol Combs Hole provided exemplary leadership on behalf of libraries, bookmobile and outreach services throughout her 32 year career as a professional public librarian. She retired from distinguished service to the Alachua County Library District on March 1, 2006 and died on October 1, 2007.
