Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Victim Services Coordinator Easter LaRoche was recognized in Fort Lauderdale last week at the 20th Annual Southern States Victim Assistance Training Conference, sponsored by the US Attorney’s Office.

Here’s what CCSO had to say about LaRoche:

Easter’s unwavering commitment to the citizens of Charleston and beyond have proven her to be an invaluable source of support and advocacy for victims of violent crime, and a reliable resource for the criminal justice community.

She serves on local, state and national victim services organizations; she created one of South Carolina’s first homicide survivor support groups; and has served as part of the victim assistance team for the Dylan Roof court proceedings.

Easter was also awarded CCSO’s 2018 “Civilian Supervisor of the Year” and the “Chief Deputy Carroll B. Gordon” award for her commitment to the people of Charleston County and her devotion to fellow employees, as well as her genuine concern for others (https://www.facebook.com/charlestoncountysheriff/videos/298067274404761/).

This is not the first time LaRoche was recognized on a national platform. In 2016, under Easter’s leadership, the CCSO Victim Advocates Unit was awarded the National Sheriff’s Association’s Crime Victim Services Award in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
