Booze
Prohibition to Host “LITerature and Libations: A Collaborative Book Swap/Book Drive”
Calling all local literature lovers! Charleston to Charleston Literary Festival and King Street’s Prohibition are joining forces to present LITerature and Libations, an evening of bookish and boozy camaraderie.
From 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, September 24th, Prohibition’s outdoor patio will unite the local writing and reading communities for an exciting evening full of bites and books. Enjoy light bites provided by the restaurant and author-inspired cocktails (cash bar) while engaging with like-minded bookworms and wordsmiths from around the Lowcountry.
Admission is “free” with a catch: Attendees are encouraged to bring one or more of their favorite books to participate in the evening’s Book Swap and Book Drive (books remaining at the evening’s end will be donated to local public schools or retirement homes) and be entered to win a chance at a ticket to the Third Annual Charleston to Charleston Literary Festival taking place November 7th-10th.
Additionally, book clubs attending as a group, who share C2C news on their social channels, will be entered into a drawing for tickets to one of the festival’s special events.
This will be the first event in the new series, Prohibition’s Fresh Air Fundraisers, which welcomes non profits to apply for a monthly fundraising event opportunity that allows gratis use of the restaurant’s covered patio. Interested non profits may contact Prohibition’s Events Manager Alexa at her e-mail: alexa@prohibitioncharleston.com.
