Brookgreen Gardens’ Harvest Home Weekend Returns this Weekend

Published

on

Brookgreen Gardens will host their annual fall festival, Harvest Home Weekend, from October 5th to 6th. This family friendly event features a pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting stations, hayrides, and live kid-friendly entertainment. Visitors are also invited to decorate their own scarecrows with clothing items and accessories collected year-round by volunteers.

“This is one of our biggest family events and makes for the perfect opportunity to take in the changing colors and welcome the fall season,” Page Kiniry, President and CEO of Brookgreen Gardens, said. “Harvest Home Weekend has become a Lowcountry tradition and many families even start planning their scarecrow for the next year the minute they leave!”

During the festival, visitors are invited to explore the entirety of Brookgreen’s grounds, including the Lowcountry Zoo, and Butterfly House. On Saturday, October 5th, entertainment will be Danza Aztec, a Native American dance troupe, and singer and guitarist Shelley Sasser. On Sunday, October 6th, entertainment will be singer Randy McQuay, and Mimi B. Access to the festival is included in admission prices, while the hayrides, pumpkins and scarecrows are separate fees. Purchase tickets in advance online here.

Brookgreen Gardens is located at 1931 Brookgreen Drive in Murrells Inlet.
