Mitchell Hill to Presents “Island-Hop” Art Exhibition this Month
Press Release
Mitchell Hill presents ”Island-Hop,” an art exhibition showcasing the latest works by South Carolina artist John Crum. This new series of surrealist island paintings activate the viewer’s imagination with exquisite detail and hidden images throughout the colorful and elevated root systems.
“Your art makes me smile” is the most frequent statement received about Crum’s paintings from viewers, patrons and collectors.
His eclectic and imaginative work captures the stories of life, love, and inspiration while offering a curious and subtle whimsical twist. These narrative paintings take the viewer on their own unexpected and magical journey. Always observing his surroundings, his goal is to gently capture life’s special moments while conjuring curious twists with a dreamlike quality.
On Friday, October 4th, from 5 pm to 8 pm, all guests are welcome to join Mitchell Hill and John Crum to island-hop through the display of original artwork, libations and casual conversation with the artist.
John Crum, a Hilton Head Island local, received formal art training from the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL., graduating in 1973. Crum has been exhibiting for over 20 years in the Lowcountry and been with Mitchell Hill Gallery for 9 years. He focuses on capturing life stories, steered by love and eclectic imagination to guide his whimsical artwork.
Mitchell Hill is a contemporary art gallery and interior design firm located at 438 King Street.
