I created the “Leftovers” series to ensure I could share as much food and bev news as possible, so here’s the latest…

  1. Pink Cactus

      • These all-black menu specials will be available through the end of the holiday on November 2.
  2. Wild Common
    • Join the restaurant for Truffle Weekend on October 25-27 for a special four-course menu featuring various black truffle infused dishes from Chef Orlando Pagán (click here to see the menu). During this weekend-long celebration, the regular dinner menu will not be offered.
    • This four-course truffle tasting experience is offered at $85/person, with a white truffle supplement available for an additional $45 (make sure to select “white truffles!” when making a reservation on RESY to hold one of these limited availability supplements). Wine pairings will be offered at $45/person, or $55/person for reserve pairings.
    • Reservations available here.
  3. Zero Restaurant + Bar
    • The restaurant will host the Harvest in Napa Valley October Wine Seminar on Sunday, October 27th at 12 pm, featuring tastings from one of the top wine regions in the world. Begin with a glass of Napa sparkling wine while learning about the history of the region and why it grows such highly acclaimed wines, followed by an overview on how to navigate the 16 American Viticultural Areas of the Napa Valley while tasting Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
    • Tickets are $100 per person and available to purchase through Tock.
  4. Glowfisch Restaurants (Five Loaves Cafe, Sesame Burgers and Beer, and Ember Wood Fired Kitchen)
    • Kids Eat Free for Halloween when they come dressed in costume on Monday, October 28th at any Five Loaves Cafe, Sesame Burgers and Beer or Ember Wood Fired Kitchen
    • Valid on October 28th from 4 pm to 9 pm with purchase of adult meal. Dine in only. Kids must be dressed in costume in order for free meal to be redeemed.
  5. Commonhouse Aleworks announced that John McAlexander has been promoted to the position of Head Brewer. McAlexander joined the Commonhouse team earlier this year as Assistant Brewer where his role included malt handling and wort production, yeast management, quality control, as well as other aspects of the brewing process. As Head Brewer, McAlexander will be directing the entire production operation and brew team while managing the consumption demands both in-house as well as in distribution.

After more than 10 years brewing, Shane Cummings, who held the position of Head Brewer before McAlexander, is retiring from the industry and looks forward to a change of pace, spending time with his wife and newborn son, and whatever new adventures life has in store.
