Palmetto Brewing’s Parent Co. to Launch Hard Seltzers in CHS
Palmetto Brewing Co.’s parent company (Catawba Valley Brewing Co.) will launch Twisp, a line of southern hard seltzers inspired by popular cocktails, in Charleston on October 19th. The Holy City will be one of only four markets to get a first taste of the company’s launch flavors: The Mule, The Paloma and The Spritzer.
Available in 12 oz. cans, Twisp is a clear, low-calorie, gluten-free, low-carb and low-sugar drink. The company provided the following descriptions of each of the launch flavors:
- The Mule – The alluring spice of ginger balanced with just a twist of lime. The only thing missing is your favorite copper mug.
- The Paloma – Dry grapefruit paired with the subtle sweetness of lime. It can’t take you to the beach, but it can bring a little bit of the beach to you.
- The Spritzer – Sweet red raspberry with just a hint of floral hibiscus. This crisp take on a spritzer is just plain refreshing.
To celebrate, there will be a full day of family-friendly activities at the Palmetto Brewing Co. tasting room on October 19th, kicking off with a free morning yoga class on the patio. The official party will begin at noon with a pig pickin’. The first 150 Twisp purchases will come with a Twisp koozie. Guests can then show the koozie to receive a complimentary BBQ plate. Music starts at 4 pm. Plus, there will be giveaways, raffles, games, face-painting and activities. You can find more details on Palmetto’s Facebook event page.
Through 2019, Twisp will be available in all five of Catawba Valley Brewing Company’s tasting rooms: Palmetto in Charleston and Catawba in Asheville, Charlotte, and Morganton. Expected entry into major retailers in the South is the beginning of 2020; at the same time, the Palmetto facility in Charleston will become Twisp’s primary manufacturing facility.
