Yes! I’m A Feminist Celebrates 7th Year at CofC

On Friday, November 1st, “Yes! I’m a Feminist” will celebrate seven years of supporting the Women’s and Gender Studies program at the College of Charleston (CofC) with their annual fundraising event. The party will be held from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at the Cistern Yard on the CofC campus.

With the support of the community, Yes! I’m a Feminist and the Women’s and Gender Studies program will continue to help students with tuition, programming, study abroad, and expanded research and internship opportunities. Previous money raised has helped:

• Gift annual scholarships, including the Alison Piepmeier Scholarship

• Expand student and faculty research and civic leadership in the areas of:

  • The effects of women’s education on involvement in politics

  •  Intersectional youth activism

  • LGBTQ+ identities

  • Women in STEM fields

• Provide student scholarships to attend academic conferences and present their research

• Create the opportunity for students to study abroad in countries such as Uganda, Rwanda, Cuba, and England
