Edmund’s Oast Hosts Time Place Wine Co. Dinner in November
On Monday, November 4th, at 7 pm, Edmund’s Oast will host a wine dinner inspired by California’s Time Place Wine Co. and featuring its founder/winemaker Jamey Whetstone, a South Carolina native. The dinner will feature a full lineup of the wines: Picpoul, Rosé, Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvedre, and Zinfandel.
Whetstone moved to Napa in 1996 to manage a restaurant, but fell in love with winemaking. After working at Turley Cellars, he interned in Burgundy at Domaine Dujac. Ultimately, he began his own project Whetstone Cellars in 2002. He started Time Place Wine Co. in 2017 to focus on specific sites in the Lodi appellation, and he reached out to Charleston artist John Duckworth to create the labels. Each label is a photograph of a South Carolina landscape that gives the exact time and place. Duckworth will also be at the dinner displaying his art and discussing the connection.
Chef Bob Cook and Pastry Chef Heather Hutton will prepare a four course “family style” dinner to compliment the wines. The dinner will be held in “The Library,” the new private dining room at Edmund’s Oast. Tickets are $130, all inclusive. Seating is extremely limited. Tickets can be purchased online here.
Preceding the dinner, there will be a free tasting of Time Place wine at Edmund’s Oast Exchange, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
