“Butcher Stories” Returns to PURE Theatre in November
Comedian Andy Livengood brings his one man show back to PURE Theatre after it’s nearly sold out debut run during Piccolo Spoleto.
Based off of the hit blog and featuring 100% real interactions with insane customers, Livengood will take audiences on a hilarious and heartfelt tour of strange coworkers, clueless managers, and crazy customers.
Livengood plays Alex, a directionless twenty-year-old kid who spends his days manning a meat counter at the local grocery store. When an unexpected promotion falls into his lap, Alex must decide if he wants to follow his dreams or take on the stable career as a butcher.
“While the focus of the show is the hysterical customer interactions, at it’s core it’s a coming of age journey of self discovery surrounded by the insanity of working retail,” director and PURE Theatre Core Ensemble member R.W. Smith said. “Andy brings such a great mixture of openness and vulnerability combined with perfect comedic timing. This show will be a fun ride for the audience.”
Butcher Stories will be performed at The Cannon Street Arts Center, 134 Cannon Street on November 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th at 5 pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at puretheatre.org
