The Break Room Takes a Swing at Domestic Violence this Saturday
Put your rage to good use at a first-of-its-kind Charleston business! On Saturday, October 26th, from 1 pm to 4 pm, The Break Room will host a benefit for local nonprofit My Sister’s House. The grand opening celebration will include a visit from May John Tecklenburg, live music, a free light lunch, and all the smashing you can handle.
100% of proceeds from the event will benefit My Sister’s House, a local women’s center for domestic violence. The Break Room is the Lowcountry’s first location to release frustration, combat stress, and reduce anxiety in a safe and entertaining way.
“We are excited to be part of a unique experience that offers a safe and alternate solution to stress relief,” Tosha Connors, Director of Development and Sponsorship at My Sister’s House, said. “Some people run or play sports to release that extra energy. The Break Room provides that fun and thrill in a different way that still doesn’t cause harm or issue to anyone else.”
To add to the excitement, guests can purchase tickets to smash a car, donated by Don’s Car Crushing, with their choice of a bat or crowbar. Proceeds go to My Sister’s House.
The Break Room Charleston offers smashing sessions in fifteen and thirty minute increments, solo or with a friend. Safety gear is included and videotaping is allowed.
The Break Room Charleston is located at 1947 Belgrade Ave. in West Ashley. For more information call 843-793-3174 or visit www.tbrcharleston.com or follow The Break Room Charleston on Facebook and Instagram @RageCharleston.
