Charleston to Host Informational Session for City’s 350th Commemoration
The City of Charleston will host an informational session for any business or organization interested in taking part in the Charleston 350 Commemoration in 2020. The meeting will be held on Thursday, November 7th at 9 am at the Charleston Museum.
City and committee representatives will share information about how local organizations can participate through partnering events, educational programs, and sponsorship opportunities. This informational session is free and open to the public. Light refreshments and coffee will be available afterward courtesy of Charleston Sister Cities International.
The commemoration, taking place throughout 2020, will acknowledge the 350th anniversary of the historic founding at Charles Towne by engaging the community and the State of South Carolina to honor the City’s rich heritage, unique customs and diverse cultures in a manner that examines its past and present, setting the course for its future as a 21st century global city.
A wide array of partnering events will be available throughout the year, ranging from curated museum experiences, to musical masterpieces, to deep dialogue happening across the city and surrounding communities. It is the City’s desire that the commemoration will give every citizen throughout the Charleston region an opportunity to learn, reflect and grow by taking part in the Charleston 350 Commemoration.
The City will be unveiling additional information on next year’s commemoration in the coming months. A kick-off event will be held on April 18th, 2020, at Charles Towne Landing.

Good afternoon, my name is Robert Crawford. I serve as vice -chairperson for the Emancipation Proclamation Association of Charleston. We would like to participate/ volunteer in this year’s Charleston 350 celebrations starting with The Founder’s Day Kick off April 18th. We hope our organization can be of some help.
