Charleston Symphony Orchestra League, Inc. Announces “Home for the Holidays”
The “rising stars” are home for the holidays! The Charleston Symphony Orchestra League, Inc. (CSOL) will present Home for the Holidays on December 29th, 2019 at 3:30 pm at the Unitarian Church, 8 Archdale Street.
The organization will welcome CSOL scholarship recipients for an afternoon of chamber music to benefit the David and Karen Stahl Memorial Scholarship Fund of the CSOL, given annually to the top-ranked graduating high school senior who plans to major in music in college.
Performers include Emma Joyce and Benjamin Kremer, violin; Marshall McArthur, viola; Erica Kremer, cello; Caleb Borek and Reed Kurtz, Piano; and Eliza Turner, voice. The program will feature both solos and ensembles including selections from the Brahms String Quartet No. 1 in C minor, the Dvořák Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major and the Vivaldi Concerto for 3 Violins in F Major. Some of these talented musicians are already in college preparing for their careers in music. Others are still in Charleston reading for advanced study.
After the recital, a reception will follow in Gage Hall where guests will have an opportunity to meet the musicians before they begin their careers.
Tickets are $35 per person for adults. Students are admitted free of charge. Reservations are available online at www.csolinc.org or by check made payable to CSOL Home for the Holidays mailed to Claudia Porter, 107 Wappoo Landing Circle, Charleston, SC 29414. No tickets will be issued. Your name will be on the guest list at the event. You may additionally pay at the door with cash or check only.
