Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry Launches Raffle to Help Fund One Student’s Education
Press Release
The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry has officially opened their College Fund Raffle that will award one lucky student with up to $40,000 in scholarships. Only 800 raffle tickets, for $100 apiece, are now for sale online. The winner of the 50/50 raffle will be drawn on December 31st at 3 pm after CML’s Noon Year’s Eve event.
The prize money will be submitted to the South Carolina Future Scholar 529 College Savings Plan on behalf of the winner, which can be used to pay for college or elementary/secondary private school tuition. Winners can select any beneficiary and purchasers are not required to be SC residents.
“We’re thrilled to hold this raffle that will help fund a student’s future education,” says Nichole Myles, executive director of the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry. “Plus, a portion of each ticket sold will go to the museum so that we can provide more young children in the tri-county area with the opportunity for learning-through-play experiences. We know that high-quality, early childhood experiences play a key role in a child’s school success and are proud to provide these to our community.”
The museum’s proceeds will go towards CML’s Early Education Access Fund, which provides under-resourced children and families affordable access to the museum’s high-quality programming and experiences. Participants who purchase a ticket before December 5 will also be entered to win a prize package, including a family four-pack of tickets, to The Lion King at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.
