Duke University Pitchforks & Plantation Singers Host Charity Concert for HALOS on 2/1

Published

on

On Saturday, February 1st, 2020, the Duke Pitchforks return to Charleston for the tenth consecutive year for another performance benefiting HALOS.

Each year, the all-male a capella group delights the audience with a range of songs from contemporary hits to old standards. The Pitchforks’ past 2 albums have each won the CARA award for Best Male Collegiate Album in the nation.

Founded in 1979, The Pitchforks are the oldest a cappella group at Duke University. They have sung the national anthem at Chicago Bulls and Duke basketball games, and performed before the Queen of Jordan.

The Pitchforks will once again be joined by Charleston’s own Plantation Singers, one of the most renowned a capella and percussion gospel groups in the southeast.

The concert begins at 6:30 pm in the Circular Congregational Church. Tickets are $25 per person ($20 for students and senior citizens) and can be purchased in advance online or at the door.

HALOS supports children in South Carolina who live with extended family (grandparents and otherwise) to keep them out of the foster care system. In SC, there are over 74,000 children living in kinship care, and HALOS serves any of those families in the TriCounty area.
