High Wire Distilling to Host Jimmy Red Bourbon Release Saturday
Charleston’s High Wire Distilling Co. today announced they will host the 2019 release of their Jimmy Red Straight Bourbon Whiskey in Le Creuset stoneware at the distillery on Saturday, December 7th at 10:30 am.
This year’s release will be the last time the distillery will package Jimmy Red in the Le Creuset stoneware bottles (right). High Wire chose two single barrel selections for this release (descriptions provided by the distillery):

- “This single barrel, single estate version of Jimmy Red Bourbon was made with corn from the Cherokee Tract just south of Charleston. The Cherokee Tract is home of Clemson University’s Coastal Research and Education Center. This batch boasts a prominent baking spice nose and flavor with unique notes of chocolate malt and tart cherry.”
- 92 proof, 291 bottles produced, $119.99
- Barrel 365 (Gold Wax)
- “This batch is also a single barrel expression made with Jimmy Red corn sourced from the Pee Dee River Basin. Tasting notes include honey, soft graham flour, nutmeg, vanilla, and maple syrup.”
- 92 proof, 267 bottles produced, $119.99
Like last year, owners Scott Blackwell and Ann Marshall will be on hand to sign bottles, and their Tasting Room team will offering Irish Coffees for those waiting in line.
