CofC School of Professional Studies to Host Acclaimed Wine Sales Consultant For Lecture
Press Release
The Center for Continuing and Professional Education, a division of the School of Professional Studies department at the College of Charleston, will host two wine sales education events on Wednesday, April 1st, 2020.
Wine education is a popular topic at many colleges and education centers; however, most are missing a key element – how to sell wine as a product.
The first class in this two-part wine sales course focuses on the buyer-supplier relationship. Instructor Paul Wagner (right) will help distributors hone the skills necessary to succeed as a wine sales representative. He will provide practical, step-by-step examples of successful techniques that are proven to work in the marketplace.
The second class focuses on the nuts and bolts approach to selling wine to your customers, whether they be in a restaurant, a tasting room or wine shop.
Those interested in learning more about selling wine should plan to attend one or both sessions. All attendees are invited to a wine reception and book signing following the afternoon class.
About the Instructor, Paul Wagner
Paul Wagner has been an instructor for Napa Valley College’s Viticulture and Enology department for the past twenty-five years. He has also been a guest lecturer at many universities and has spoken at more than eighty conferences throughout the world. With Liz Thach and Janeen Olsen, he authored Wine Marketing & Sales, Strategies for a Saturated Market by The Wine Appreciation Guild, which won the Gourmand International Award in 2008 for the best wine book of the year for professionals.
