Published

on

Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach (OLMCOS) will host the Love Your Neighbor Auction from 1 pm to 4 pm on January 26th at the Charleston Marriott Hotel located at 170 N. Lockwood Blvd. The afternoon begins with cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres, live music, a unique, silent auction collection and a prestigious live auction selection.

Guests can bid on luxurious items such as a guided quail hunt for two at Pinetop Plantation, a 7-Night Scottish Getaway at Old Larder Glen House for four, a 4-Night Luxury Stay in Spain for two, VIP tickets to a taping of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, a Lowcountry boil for 25, a clay course round for four at Kiawah Sporting Club, original art, and much more during the silent and live auctions.

For the third year, OLMCOS is presenting the Love Your Neighbor Award to showcase the long-term impact an individual, organization or company makes in our community, bringing the organization’s mission to help those in greatest need reach self-sufficiency, to life. This year’s award will be presented to Frank and Kathy Cassidy. Frank and Kathy Cassidy have been donors and volunteers for OLMCOS – Food Pantry, reception, Yes, I Can summer camp, and on the auction, finance, and golf committees – for a total of over ten years. Frank was chairman of the board of directors for three years and managed OLMCOS’ Neighborhood House renovation project.

“The Love Your Neighbor Auction is our largest fundraising event of the year,” Ericka Plater, executive director of Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach, said. “It is critical to continuing our mission and we are thankful to our generous supporters who attend and selflessly give to help those with emergency needs, to strengthen and lift up communities and to ultimately improve people’s lives.”

Tickets can be bought online at www.olmoutreach.org.

100% of proceeds from the event will be used to support the mission of Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach, which is to encourage and support self-sufficiency and self-worth for people in need through education, wellness and outreach services.
