12th Annual Gourmet & Grapes Weekend Welcomes New Event

Published

on

The Medical University of South Carolina’s Hollings Cancer Center and The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort will host the 12th annual Gourmet & Grapes weekend from January 29th to February 2nd. The event couples local and national culinary talent with award-winning wineries with the goal to raise funds and awareness that will support cancer research and patient programs at the Hollings Cancer Center.

Gourmet & Grapes is adding a new event to this year’s lineup – an exclusive, unique, and intimate dinner called “G&G Uncorked.” The event will be headlined by New York City’s Chef Chintan Pandya of Adda Indian Canteen, Rahi, and soon to open Dhamaka. Organizers are proud to welcome the team behind Adda, a semi-finalist for the James Beard Foundation Award for “Best New Restaurant,” Food & Wine Magazine’s “Ten Best New Restaurants,” Eater’s “National Best New Restaurants,” and Bon Appetit “Top 50 Best New Restaurants of 2019.”

Born in Mumbai, Chef Pandya incorporates the traditions of regional Indian cuisine into his food. On Wednesday, January 29th, Pandya will be bringing together local Southern ingredients with an Indian twist. “G&G Uncorked” will be a once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience where seating is limited and the private location of the dinner will be released to guests only. Each course will feature a world-class wine pairing from the portfolio of Grassroots Wine, followed by dessert.

Chef Pandya will also be creating a dish at the Wine Odyssey Gala held on Saturday, February 1st at The Sanctuary. The Gala is the highlight of the weekend, where guests get to mingle with culinary talent and vintners from around the world. Beginning the evening with a silent auction followed by a live auction featuring trips, rare bourbons, exclusive wines, and more.
