The Darling Oyster Bar is Expanding to Savannah
The Darling Oyster Bar this week announced that they are opening a second location in Savannah. The restaurant first opened their doors in downtown Charleston in the Spring of 2016 and has become a popular spot for visitors and locals alike.
The sister restaurant will be located at 27 Montgomery Street looking on to Franklin Park. The building dates back to the 1800’s and the team plans on spending the next year restoring and preserving the history of the building, while renovating the space. Smith Hanes out of Atlanta, who designed the interior of the Charleston location will be a part of the team and Andrew Lynch of Lynch Associates Architects will be lead architect.
“After we opened The Darling in Charleston and we saw how much our guests enjoy dining with us, we knew we wanted to open a second location,” Robert Young, co-owner and partner, said. “Having our second location in Savannah is really exciting, we love the city and the people and look forward to bringing our menu, raw bar and cocktail program for everyone to enjoy.”
The Savannah location will house a raw bar, full menu with highlighted seafood dishes that have become mainstays in Charleston and a full cocktail program. Diners can expect a similar design aesthetic from the flagship location with nods to Savannah’s history.
