14th Annual Cinderella Day 2020 at the North Charleston Dream Center “As Magical as it Should Be”

Cinderella Day is about creating a moment in time where young women see the beauty they may not always feel.
High School Prom is a pivotal time in a young woman’s life but for hundreds of teens around the Lowcountry, it is a time where the needs of their families outweigh the importance of buying a new dress and feeling truly special at Prom. In 2007, The Seacoast Dream Center recognized the importance of this season for building self-esteem and rose to meet it with their first local Cinderella Day. In 2008, 120 girls attended the first Cinderella Day and the organization’s goal in 2020 is to host 250 women, at NO COST to their families.
On March 7th, 2020 the Dream Center (located at 5505 N. Rhett Ave) will again open its doors from 9 am to 1 pm to create an unforgettable “shopping” experience for local teens. Aside from being able to find the perfect dress, shoes, and jewelry for free, girls will be treated to mini-make-overs complete with up-do and styling, make-up, and manicures. The best part, they get to capture this moment and walk away with photographs of themselves exuding joy. For many, this may be the first and only photographs they have of themselves.
Refreshments and music will allow the girls to relax and soak in the moment with girlfriends or family members. Interested teens should show up the day of the event; registration is not required.
A boutique-style personal shopping experience helps us fulfill their prom needs but it takes YOU to make their day magical. Currently, the biggest need is to collect as many new or gently used plus size gowns (size 18+) as possible. In addition to dress donations, the organization is also looking for shoes, restaurant gift certificates, raffle prizes, and anything that will help contribute to this memorable occasion. They need YOU to get involved, donate a dress, spread the word, and help make this event “as magical as it should be” for our local teens. Every girl deserves to feel and look beautiful.
